Closed for Vacation

I'm up to 87 sales in a little over four months. The first two were kind of slow while I was building up inventory in my shop, but these last two months have been quite busy. In hindsight, I probably should have closed my shop when we went to Georgia a couple weeks ago. I got 8-10 orders in the few days that we were there and I've been struggling to get those done as well as the orders that keep coming in. I'm not complaining! I just wasn't expecting to be so busy.

I will be going on vacation July 6th and returning July 24th. We will be going to Arizona for a week to visit family and then we're going to spend the rest of our vacation in Oceanside, CA. My inlaws bought a retirement home there. We are planning a Disneyland trip AND Sea World. (Super excited!)

I will be closing my shop this week so that I can get caught up on orders before we leave town. My shop will go down on June 27 and I will be re-opening my shop on July 20th.

Amazing Card Box

I was browsing Etsy Wedding items and I found the most lovely card box I've ever seen! It's incredibly beautiful. I'm tempted to order one of these to just sit in my living room as a conversation piece. I have to give props to this artist. It looks like this shop was just opened, I wish her much success on Etsy!

New Colors

I have a bride that is wanting me to make a book with hot pink, hot orange colors. I've never done it before but I just made a mock up and I think it turned out pretty good!

Meanwhile, I've been very busy the last week. And I just got two more orders today. All for weddings taking place NEXT WEEK! I need to get busy. This might be an all nighter.

Pink Floyd Love

My Pink Floyd inspired mini book was featured in an Etsy treasury called, "Does anybody really know what time it is?" A treasury dedicated to "TIME".

I spent a few days this week volunteering at church and helping them get ready for a leadership conference that took place today. I'm always up for anything involving scissors and glue. I made centerpieces for 18 tables, Cinco De Mayo themed! It was a lot of fun!

Yesterday, my Newspaper Mini Book was featured in it's 3rd Etsy Treasury called, "Extra Extra Read All About It." It's a beautiful treasury and it features a few handbags, one of them from a seller Leyyabags. She is a seller from Istanbul, Turkey. I checked out her shop, and I found the cutest handbags I've ever seen! I could NOT resist and I ended up buying TWO of her handmade bags. They are so unique, I couldn't decide which one I liked best so I got them both. Handbags are my WEAKNESS! I can't wait until I receive these in the mail. Celebration of the Arts

I have a craft show coming up in May and I've been spending a lot of time making mini books. It's a "Celebration of the Arts" show where I'll have my own vendor booth area. I've never done a show before but I'm excited about it! Since most of the books in my shop are for weddings, I decided to make the mini books so that I can appeal to all ages and occasions. So, I've been making about 2 or 3 a day for the past couple weeks. I figured it would be smart to offer books that are cute and cheap! ($12-$14) You can see them all in my Etsy Shop ;-)

About Me

My name is Lora, I live with my husband and our two cats in Lancaster, PA. It's beautiful Amish country with rolling green hills and gorgeous skies. We absolutely love it!

We got married on 10/10/10. We both grew up in Arizona but right after our honeymoon, my husband got this amazing job opportunity in Lancaster, so we packed up and moved across country to a home that we bought online (had never seen in person) and to a new part of the country we had never been. And guess what? WE LOVE IT!

I'm a house wife, and when I'm not folding hubbies socks, I like to read, crochet, sew, and make coptic stitch books. When you order from my shop, you are getting something handmade and it will be unlike anything you can get in a store.

Fresh Start

I have a personal blog website:
But, I decided to start this new blog specifically for things dealing with craftiness, so here it goes!
